Label Application
The labels / die-cut parts are first dispensed and transferred with onto an application support (i.e. tamp) where it is held in place by a vacuum. Then the label is applied to the product.
Different Types of Label Application:
Dispensing without applicator:
Direct labeling onto the product; mostly during continuous product movement (wipe-on); medium positioning tolerance.
Dispensing with applicator:
Label is applied with application fixture (i.e. tamp); usually intermittent product movement; high positioning tolerance.
note:
true label applicators process preprinted labels;
print & apply systems process in-line printed labels
